This Privacy Policy explains how Tensorblue AI operates Media Diet and handles personal data across the Media Diet website and mobile applications. It applies from 24 August 2026.
Who is responsible
Tensorblue AI is the developer and operator of Media Diet. Questions, privacy requests, and grievances can be sent to amir@tensorblue.com. Please do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, or identity documents unless we specifically request them through a secure channel.
Data we collect
- Account and identity data: email address, display name, profile image, and the account identifier supplied by Google or Apple when you choose to sign in.
- Reading and preference data: selected interests, settings, bookmarks, article progress, Daily Ritual completion and streaks, puzzle attempts, notification preferences, and saved-story state.
- Content you provide: comments, poll votes, reports, blocked-user choices, feedback, optional feedback email, and attachments you deliberately upload.
- Purchase and entitlement data: product, subscription status, transaction or purchase token, renewal, cancellation, refund, and entitlement dates. Media Diet does not receive your complete card or bank-account details from an app store or payment processor.
- Device and security data: app platform, push token, IP address, user agent, session timestamps, request identifiers, and limited diagnostic or security events needed to protect and operate the service.
Microphone and voice search
Media Diet requests microphone access only when you start voice search. Your device or browser speech service converts the audio into a search query. Media Diet does not save voice recordings. Google, Apple, or the browser speech provider may process that audio under its own privacy terms.
Guest and device-local data
Guest bookmarks, onboarding choices, theme, autoplay settings, and similar preferences may remain only on your device. If you later sign in, you can choose to sync supported guest state with your Media Diet account. Access and refresh credentials are stored using protected browser cookies or the device Keychain/Keystore where available.
How we use data
- Provide feeds, search, bookmarks, settings, streaks, and puzzles.
- Authenticate accounts and keep sessions secure.
- Deliver notifications you request and honour category opt-outs.
- Verify purchases and maintain subscription entitlements.
- Operate discussions, polls, reports, blocking, and moderation.
- Answer feedback, corrections, safety, and support requests.
- Detect abuse, fraud, outages, and security incidents.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
Feed ordering is deterministic and based on editorial priority, recency, your selected interests, and your reading preferences. Media Diet does not sell personal data or use it for cross-app behavioural advertising.
Processors and disclosures
We disclose the minimum data needed to service providers that host or protect Media Diet, including cloud hosting, database, object storage, content delivery, authentication, push notification, app-store billing, payment, monitoring, and customer-support providers. Planned production providers include Vercel, Railway, MongoDB Atlas, Cloudflare R2, Firebase, Google Play, Apple, and Razorpay. These providers process data under their own terms or on our instructions.
We may also disclose data when required by law, to protect users and the service, during a corporate transaction with appropriate safeguards, or when you direct us to do so. Public comments may be visible to other Media Diet users.
International processing
Service providers may process data in India and other countries. We use contractual, access-control, and technical safeguards appropriate to the data and follow applicable transfer requirements.
Retention
- Account data is kept while the account is active and then deleted or anonymised within 30 days after a valid deletion request.
- Expired refresh sessions and abandoned upload sessions are removed automatically after their configured expiry.
- Feedback, safety reports, and moderation records are kept only as long as needed to resolve the matter, prevent abuse, and maintain a defensible audit history.
- Purchase, refund, fraud-prevention, security, and audit records may be retained where reasonably necessary or required by tax, accounting, consumer-protection, or other law. They are restricted and are not used to recreate a deleted profile.
Your choices and rights
You can update interests and notification choices in Settings, withdraw optional permissions in device settings, revoke sessions, remove bookmarks and comments where supported, and request access, correction, erasure, or withdrawal of consent by contacting us. We may need to verify that a request belongs to you.
Account and data deletion
In the app, open Profile → Delete account. On the web, use the prominent request pathway at Media Diet account deletion. A request revokes active sessions and schedules associated personal data for deletion or anonymisation within 30 days, subject only to the limited retention described above. Cancel an active subscription in Google Play, the App Store, or the original payment provider to stop future renewal; deleting a Media Diet account does not automatically cancel a store-managed subscription.
You may also delete selected data without closing your Media Diet account.
Security
We use encryption in transit, restricted access, hashed session credentials, private media storage, upload validation, audit logging, and other organisational and technical controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please report suspected misuse promptly.
Age limit
Media Diet is intended for people aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data contrary to this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Media Diet or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised date here and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
